The program brings students together for five to six meetings throughout the school year, providing opportunities to engage with Dallas Police Department leadership, participate in youth-led discussions, and develop leadership and problem-solving skills.
Participants explore topics such as public safety, mental health, digital safety, violence prevention, community trust, and career readiness while taking part in hands-on experiences, community service projects, and interactive demonstrations with specialized police units. The program is designed to inspire civic engagement, strengthen leadership, and build positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a Dallas-area high school
- Maintain good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Submit an application
- Provide a 500 word essay/video statement
- Obtain parent/guardian consent
- Obtain school approval/recommendation
- Commit to attending eight scheduled meetings and service activities
Applications are accepted annually (August–September)
